Authentic Here We Come!
We are packing our bags and heading out early tomorrow for Authentic! We are very excited to be able to attend Open Bible Church's National Convention and to participate in the Missionary Summit that follows.
We received a wonderful send-off from church this morning. All our Hungarian Open Bible brothers and sisters wanted to make sure that we greet their Open Bible family in the US for them. We are all so very happy to be a part of a loving, God-believing, Spirit-filled, world-wide family.
Please pray for a safe, uneventful trip for us and that we make all our connections with time to spare. Authentic, here we come!

Evangelism
Saturday we visited the Open Bible Church in Kemecse. The service we attended was a special evangelism service was held outside in the church yard. It was a hot day, in the upper 80's, and the sun was beating down, but almost 40 people sat patiently through the two hour service. They kindly offered us seats in the shade and made sure everyone had water.
Pastor Gulyás preached from John 4 about the woman at the well and a young man and middle-aged woman responded to the invitation to give their lives to the Lord. That was the best part of the whole day. Then several people responded to the invitation for us, the American guests, to pray for them.
This dear church was blessed to receive gifts from America to buy their own church building. They are in the process of renovating the house they bought and hope to have a dedication service in August. They have two INSTE groups and are pursuing God with all their hearts. It was great to be with them.

Sister Visit
We were so happy to have Jim and Delores Winegar (Nancy's sister) visit us last week for a few days. We took a litte vacation time and showed them around Hungary. Here are a few pictures from our time together.
Of course, we took them around Debrecen and Budapest, but we also took them to the Hortobagy National Park. There happened to be a Gulyás Versény (Cowboy Contest) that day and we were able to sit in on the traditional costume portion of the contest.
The only problem that day was drizzle and rain. Jim and Dee were good sports, though, and endured the rain without complaint. We even took a tour of the park in a covered wagon in the rain.
Poppies were blooming all over the countryside, so we stopped to take pictures.
It was very windy our last day in Budapest, but we did our best to see as many sights as possible including getting this picture from Fisherman's Bastion.
Of course, we ate a lot of delicious food. Jim and Dee sampled many kinds of Hungarian food and enjoyed almost all of it, but the best meal we had was with Pastor Mihály and Márika Gulyás the first evening Jim and Dee were with us.
Thank you, Jim and Dee for your visit. We had a wonderful time. Thank you especially for your testimony on Sunday morning at the Open Bible Church and for praying for so many people after the service. God bless you!
