Gávavencsellő Service

In addition to our work with Inste, we truly enjoy being able to minister in churches. Yesterday Mike spoke at the Open Bible Church in Gávavencsellő.
We always receive a warm welcome from  Csaba Vadászi (above) and the mainly Gypsy congregation.
Attendance was low because it is a holiday weekend and because several members were ill, but that did not stop all of us from enjoying the presence of the Lord and being with each other.
Mike preached on honoring God, valuing him and appreciating him for how magnificent he is.  If we truly honor God, we will honor him not only with our words, but by giving him our best, obeying him, and honoring his body, that is, other believers.

We would like to honor Misha Tovtin, who has faithfully interpreted for us and for Inste the entire time we have been in Hungary.  Even though we speak Hungarian, we do not speak well enough to express the concepts of the Word of God when we speak publicly.  Thank you, Misha, for being Mike's "Hungarian voice," especially this weekend.

Thanksgiving Service

Sunday was the annual Thanksgiving Service at the Open Bible Church in Debrecen.  We always enjoy seeing the display of harvest bounty from the Lord...
and hearing many people share what God has done for them the past year including school graduations, engagements and babies.
Of course, what is Thanksgiving without eating together?  After the service, we all enjoyed chili beans over pasta with bread, tea and lots of yummy desserts.
I will give thanks to You, O Lord, among the peoples; I will sing praises to You among the nations. Psalm 57:9

Inste Board Meeting

Friday we had an important Hungarian Inste board meeting. In addition to the board members, Tammy Swailes, Regional Director for Inste in Europe, was in attendance and provided welcome information and encouragement. The board members approved the addition of two new board members. It is interesting to note that the Inste association (known as the Hungarian Bible Training Association) is required to have at least ten members, but more are allowed.  The board also gave preliminary approval to a young man as Inste director trainee.  This is an important step in the nationalization of the Inste program in Hungary.  Please pray for this young man as he studies the vision and principles of Inste and for him and the board members to discern God's will in this important decision.
