Ibrány Level 2 Inste Meeting

Saturday we made the short trip to Ibrány to talk with the Inste Level 2 group there.  A few changes have been made to the program since they completed the first semester and we wanted to explain the new requirements and to encourage the students as they begin the second semester.  We had a wonderful time with these church leaders that we consider our friends.  Laci's teenage daughter Anna even served us coffee and sandwiches. We are praying for spiritual growth and understanding as Ferenc, Laci, Palko and Kata study this semester and for the Lord to do amazing things in their church, too.

Happy 5th Birthday to Kemecse Open Bible Church

Saturday we attended the celebration of five years of ministry of the Kemecse Open Bible Church.  All five of the Hungarian Open Bible Churches participated as well as some other local churches.
The service was held outside in the church yard.  Weather can be changeable in September, but the day was sunny with perfect temperatures.  We worshipped in song, listened to short histories of the church, enjoyed two short sermons, and honored some people who have been instrumental in the church's life.  Among those honored was Inste Hungary, since most of the leaders, including the founding pastor, are Level One Inste graduates.  Also honored were Pastor Karl Francis and Living Word Open Bible Church of Cooper City, Florida who gave generously toward the purchase of the current church building.
The best part of any service is when people come forward for prayer.  Almost everyone present came forward to commit themselves to the building up of their own churches, expecting God to meet their needs.
No celebration is complete without delicious food.  We enjoyed stuffed cabbage and cake after the service and everyone took the opportunity to visit with each other.  Happy birthday, Kemecse Open Bible Church!

New Semester

As school starts for children in the fall, so also most Inste groups begin their courses in September.  Inste is a flexible Bible training program that can begin any time a group decides is best, but it seems to work well for most groups to roughly follow the public school schedule.  That means that here in Hungary, we are in one of our busiest seasons.  We have groups beginning and groups continuing, all in need of books and materials, advice and answers to questions.  We are very happy to be able to help these groups get started and to continue.  Making disciples of Jesus Christ and training church leaders is a wonderful privilege.  Please pray for these students and their leaders as they tackle another semester.
This Inste group in Kemecse graduated in the spring.  Other groups are looking forward to exciting times of study this semester.
