Fasting and Prayer

Gathering for nightly prayer
Churches all over Hungary are participating in 21 days of fasting and prayer January 12 through February 1.  The churches are holding their own prayer meetings as well as participating in city-wide prayer services.  Our home church, Shalom Nyitott Biblia Gyülekezet here in Debrecen is having prayer times every weekday evening in the church office.  We are praying not only for our own needs, but we are also praying along with the other churches for our city and for Hungary.

We firmly believe 2 Chronicles 7:14: If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

It's Not About You

Mike, with Misha translating, preached in Budapest at the Örömhir Misszió church yesterday on the Biblical view of the church.  He said the church not like a restaurant where you go and sit comfortably expecting to be served what you like the way you like it. No, church is where you go to serve other people, to encourage them and help build them up any way you can including using the gifts God has given you.

The entire service was great.  We really enjoy being with our friends at this church.

Good sermon, Mike and Misha!

The worship team

Misha's daughter Veronika went with us.  Her grandma (Misha's mom) attends the church.  Veronika went home with a big bag of treats from her grandma for the family and a big smile on her face.

After the sermon, everyone practiced what we learned by praying for the needs of others.

Please Pray for Rodé

Please pray for little Rodé, the daughter of Éva, one of our translators.  Rodé is in the hospital with complications from chickenpox.  Please pray for Éva and the rest of the family, too.

Welcome 2015

We experienced a wonderful year in 2014 with safe, productive visits to Central Region Open Bible churches in the spring, a return to Hungary in May, a Level One INSTE graduation, speaking in various churches in Hungary, new INSTE groups starting, other groups continuing, and many other awesome blessings from the Lord.

We welcome 2015 and look forward to what God has in store for us and for our Hungarian brothers and sisters in Christ.  We ask the Lord for many more disciples to be made, more Level Two books to be translated, more Hungarian co-workers brought on board and more of God's abundant provision and powerful ministry.

Thank you for your part in making 2014 a good year for INSTE in Hungary.  We look forward to working with you in 2015 as well.
