Leader Seminar

Saturday we held a training for new INSTE group leaders and a refresher course for current leaders.  We all had a great time together discussing how to lead INSTE groups, leadership tips, and challenges and victories we have experienced.  Although the meeting was open to anyone interested in INSTE, it turned out that all those present were from Open Bible churches. Field Director Mihály Gulyás and Mike were asked to pray specifically for each of the Open Bible leaders present.  We were all encouraged as the Holy Spirit ministered to every one of us.  We love our INSTE group leaders!

INSTE Second Level Pilot Group Continues

Mike going over the second semester books with Pastor Misi Gulyás
Yesterday we delivered books to the INSTE Second Level pilot groups.  The eleven students will be starting their second semester this month.  They are the first students to study the church leadership program in Hungarian and are helping us to work out any problems with the translation and the system.  It is going well and the students are excited to begin another semester.  Please pray for them and for all Second Level students around the world. (In the US Second Level students are known as Diploma/Degree students.)  These college-level courses take a lot of time, dedication and study but are very helpful for those who will be or are already leaders in their churches.

Spring Flowers

We really enjoy spring in Hungary.  As we've said before, Hungarians are great gardeners and during  spring, flowers are everywhere--in gardens, along the streets, in window boxes and in the parks.  Here are some pictures Mike took this week.

Happy Easter Monday!

It's Easter Monday here in Hungary and everything is quiet in the neighborhood.  It's a public holiday, so many families are together and stores and business are closed. We enjoyed a Good Friday concert last Friday.  We had wonderful second-row middle seats and celebrated with hundreds of others the death and resurrection of our Lord.  Many churches including our home church were represented in the choir and band that performed.  And then yesterday was a beautiful Easter Sunday service at church.  What a privilege it is to be able to celebrate together with other believers the most important days in history and to honor our living Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!
I didn't get a good picture of the Good Friday concert. Besides, it is impossible to capture the joy of worshiping together.
